NXT Gantry Crane

This Lego Mindstorms NXT Gantry Crane Crawls along a suspended cable like a cable-car. It is controlled by the use of a Sound Sensor with a Software Routine that counts hand-claps for selected individual controls.

I purchased one of Mindsensors' 8 Channel Servo Controller for NXT (NXTServo-v2). I found 6 x 9gram Micro Servos for around $20 on eBay. I am quite amazed with the amount of torque out of something half the size of a matchbox. The next thing was to come up with a method of interfacing the Servos to my Lego masterpieces.

This is a Lego Mindstorms NXT Hexapod Ant, using 3 Motors, 3 Position/Touch Sensors, Ultrasonic Distance Sensor and a Sound Sensor for ´Hand-clap´ Commands. It was the first Robot I built using the new Lego Mindstorms NXT Computer Brick. Cams are used to raised and lower the Legs and also to move them back-&-forwards to cause the bot to walk.
